As part of the international comparative study “Women in community energy” on the role of women in community energy projects, ISEP and Japan Community Power Association jointly conducted a questionnaire survey and published its results in “Women in Community Energy in Japan Research Report”.
Women in Community Energy in Japan Research Report
The results of a questionnaire survey of member organizations of Japan Community Power Association revealed that the ratio of women’s participation in community energy projects and their management in Japan is low, and while there is awareness that the ratio of women’s participation is low among leaders, there is little awareness or action to actively increase the ratio. In order to achieve a sustainable and fairer energy society in the future, it is necessary to recognize the current low level of women’s participation and to develop initiatives such as the introduction of quotas.
